Biography:

Chendan was born in Luoyang (China) and attended Zhengzhou No.1 Middle School in 2010. Then, she studied at the School of Chemical Engineering in East China University of Science and Technology in 2013. Four years later, she completed a chemical engineering graduation thesis under the supervision of Prof. Xuhong Guo and A/Prof. Junyou Wang on the topic of Prepare of Functional Nano-carriers by Polymerization Induced Self-Assembly. Chendan was awarded the Outstanding Graduates for her thesis. During 2017, she directly started her PhD degree under the supervision of Prof. Cohen A. Stuart Martien and A/Prof. Junyou Wang. The main question guiding her PhD Thesis was: How can she take advantages of dendrimers instead of linear polymers to produce novel and functional materials. She characterized the components and the assemblies using mainly nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy. In 2019, she joined the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems in Eindhoven as a joint PhD student with Prof. Ilja Voets.

Research Interests:

In her PhD project, Chendan studies micellar formation and properties, as well as their dependence on solution parameters such as ionic strength, pH, and temperature. In the following part, she will focus on the more efficient way to produce novel and functional materials.
