Biography:
After completion of my bachelor degree in chemistry in 2014, I continued with the master program chemistry at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena. During my master thesis I worked in the group of Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert on poly(2-oxazoline) based micelles for gene delivery.
After obtaining my masters degree, I joined the group of Dr. Johannes Brendel for my PhD studies to gain experience in controlled radical polymerization techniques and block copolymer self-assembly as part of the collaborative research center 1278 Polytarget. One central aspect of my PhD was the preparation of polymeric nanostructures of different shape by simultaneously performing polymerizations and self-assembly, also known as polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA). The variation of structural parameters of the particles in combination with biomedical experiments revealed general structure-property relationships of polymeric micelles and new insights in the interaction of nanoparticles and human cells.
As of January 2022, I started as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Ilja Voets.
Research interests:
I investigate the self-assembly and morphological evolution of charged block copolymers to complex coacervate core micelles (C3M)s by using polymerization-induced electrostatic self-assembly (PIESA).
